Hi, I’m Amelia 👋

As a school counsellor, foster parent, and someone who calls rural and northern Canada home, I’ve seen up close how complex life can be—how much people carry beneath the surface while still showing up each day. That’s shaped how I show up in this work: with honesty, warmth, and a deep respect for the messy, in-between parts of being human that don’t always have clear answers.

Whether you’re navigating trauma, intergenerational patterns, attachment wounds, complex family dynamics, or substance use—or just feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start—you don’t have to figure it out alone. I offer a space where we can slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and build practical tools that actually support your day-to-day life—so things can start to feel more steady, more connected, and more like your own.

What it’s like to work with me…

Real conversations, real connection

Gentle support + practical tools

Rooted in compassion, focused on growth

I believe…

Therapy should feel human—real, collaborative, and grounded in trust. You deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are and still feel supported in growing.

You are the expert on your own life, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. With the right space and support, you can make sense of your experiences and move toward something that feels more steady and aligned.

Come as you are—seriously.

As a school counsellor, foster parent, and fellow human, I’m used to meeting people in the middle of real life—we’ll figure it out together, one step at a time.

My Approach

  • I draw from a range of therapeutic frameworks to tailor our approach to support your unique story. Some modalities I pull from include:

    • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Humanistic Therapy

    • Psychodynamic

    • Existential Therapy

    • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

    • Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

My work is innately person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive and responsive, meaning your care is actively adapted to meet you as the uniquely beautiful human you are!

System navigation sessions: specialized sessions to help individuals understand, access, and move through complex health, social, and community service systems.

  • I work with youth, teens, adults, including caregivers and rural and northern Canadians who are navigating the complexities of life, relationships, and self—creating space for understanding, resilience, and meaningful change.

Some of the people supported include:

    • Youth & Teens who are working through anxiety, identity, peer relationships, school stress, or big emotions that can feel hard to manage alone.

    • Adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, family dynamics, trauma, anxiety, or substance use, who are looking for a space to make sense of their experiences and move forward.

    • Caregivers who are carrying a lot—balancing their own needs while supporting others—and want support, clarity, and sustainable ways to cope.

    • Foster parents and kinship providers navigating the unique challenges and rewards of caregiving, seeking understanding, validation, and practical support.

    • Social workers, school counsellors, and other helpers who hold space for others every day and need a place where they can also be supported, processed, and cared for.

    • People in rural and northern Canada who are experiencing the isolation and hardships that remote living brings and who are searching for accessible and quality mental health care.

    • People moving through seasons of change—whether expected or not—who are looking for a steady, grounded space to land.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
