Lindsay Middaugh

Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)

Therapy for youth, couples, and adults seeking support for anxiety, self-confidence, heartache, love, divorce, trauma and challenges with relationships.

Talk Therapy Sessions Virtually Across Canada

I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a developmental perspective. I have an understanding how childhood impacts our adolescent and adult years in life.

During the past 17 years while working in mental health, I have had the honour of working with children, teens, adults, and families. I especially enjoy taking a deep dive with people struggling with love, dating, and romantic relationships.

This is where it’s helpful to connect and understand how past experiences have impacted your life currently. If this resonates with you, I would love to collaboratively work with you!

Hi, I’m Lindsay 👋

What it’s like to work with me…

I have a trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach.

 I support individuality and self-advocacy.

I believe in creating a respectful therapeutic relationship.

I believe…

We all are innately good humans shaped by lifelong experiences and patterns. Our interactions with the world and how we perceive things around us come from what we have been taught, how we have been raised, and who has influenced us the most throughout our lives.

We are all like unique snowflakes with interesting stories, and not all humans are the same! I want to deeply understand your moments of survival, joy, sadness, loneliness, and strength.

We’ll start where you are—with honesty, flexibility, and no pressure to have it all figured out.

My Approach

  • Therapeutic Strategies

I utilize various modalities and the use of these depends on your desired outcome from therapy.

    • Transactional Analysis: This is a modality which helps to understand your childhood, your relationships with parents and caregivers, additionally analyzing your most influential relationships from your past and present time.

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: This provides an opportunity to connect thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

    • Mindfulness Strategies: This provides learning opportunities to tune in to our environment with all our senses. This can look like figuring out strategies that help someone to be fully present in the moment, while limiting distractions.

    • Gottman Couples Therapy Level 1: I support couples to work through various areas such as conflict, friendship, intimacy, and understanding each other’s lifelong goals together as a couple.

    • Trauma-informed Approach: I have specialized training for childhood trauma and abuse, suicide training, and training to support individuals struggling with self-harm. I can use various strategies to support your individual needs.

  • I work with adults, teens, and couples who are navigating the messy, layered parts of life—with curiosity, honesty, and no pressure to have it all figured out. As a Canadian Certified Counsellor with 17 years of experience, I believe we are all innately good humans shaped by our life experiences and the people who have influenced us the most. My goal is to deeply understand your unique story, including moments of joy, sadness, loneliness, and strength.

    I especially enjoy helping:

    • Individuals seeking support for anxiety, low self-confidence, heartbreak, trauma, and big life transitions.

    • Couples working through conflict, intimacy issues, and shared life goals.

    • Youth navigating the challenges of adolescence.

    • Anyone who has ever felt like they're struggling with love, dating, or romantic relationships.

If you’ve ever thought, "this shouldn't feel so hard," or "why can’t I just get it together?", you’re not alone. I use a trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach to help you figure out what fits you best.
